What you get
Callers can ask questions (answered from your help articles), book or move appointments, get account help after confirming who they are, leave a message, or be transferred to you. If you don't pick up, it takes a message and emails you. Every call is summarized and saved with its transcript and recording.
Steps
- Create a Vapi account, add credit, and buy a number (or import one from Twilio).
- Make up a long random secret and set it as
VAPI_SERVER_SECRET, then redeploy. - In Vapi, add a Bearer Token credential with that secret.
- On your number, leave the assistant empty and set the Server URL to
https://YOUR_URL/api/phone/vapiwith that credential. - In Admin → Phone, set your transfer number, and optionally a greeting and voice.
- Set
NEXT_PUBLIC_SUPPORT_PHONEso the number shows on your site.
Check it works
