Signing contracts electronically

Sign a contract

When we send you a contract, you'll get an email with a Review and sign link. It's just for you, so please don't forward it. Open it on any phone or computer:

  1. Read the document. You can download the PDF first if you'd like.
  2. Fill in anything highlighted, like your company name or a checkbox. Your name and the date fill in by themselves.
  3. Draw your signature with your finger or mouse, or type your name and we'll show it in a handwriting style. Some contracts ask for your initials too.
  4. Tick the box agreeing to sign electronically, then press Sign.

You can also find contracts waiting for you on your Account page. If a meeting or purchase needs a contract first, you'll go straight to it after booking or at checkout.

Signing electronically is legal

In the US, the federal ESIGN Act and state laws (UETA) make electronic signatures as valid as signing on paper for most agreements. In the EU, electronic signatures are recognized under eIDAS. Before you sign, you agree to use electronic records, and every step is recorded: when the contract was sent, opened, and signed, from which IP address and browser.

You can ask us for a paper copy at any time. You can withdraw your consent before signing by choosing Decline to sign. Once you've signed, your signature stands.

Your signed copy

When everyone has signed, we email each person the signed PDF. Its last page is a certificate of completion, listing who signed, when, and the document's fingerprint. Keep it with your records. You can download it again from your account page or from your signing link.

Check a signed PDF is original

Go to Check a signed contract and choose the PDF. The check happens on your device, so the file isn't uploaded. It tells you whether the file is exactly the signed copy we issued. Any change, even re-saving the PDF in another app, means it won't match.

Declining, mistakes, and expired links

If you don't agree with the contract, choose Decline to sign and tell us why. Nothing is signed, and we'll be in touch. If your link says it's expired or no longer valid, or the email went to the wrong address, contact us and we'll send a fresh one.

What can't be signed electronically

Electronic signature laws don't cover everything. In the US these generally have to be signed on paper:

Rules differ by country and state. This page isn't legal advice. If you're not sure a document can be signed electronically, ask a lawyer.
